Ken Worthing Biography
Ken was born in Shrewsbury, England; in early '64 and grew up listening to a cocktail of the Beach Boys interspersed with New Wave groups. Certainly a strange concoction, but nevertheless; a mixture that would surface in his music later on. His first band (at 13) was 'Vendetta' .. a full-on 4 piece not sounding unlike a cross between Killing Joke and the Buzzcocks. They recorded nothing, but lifelong friendships were made. Ken persevered throughout his teens and into his twenties, lunging from one band to another. He settled in the early '90's in a band called 'TRASK' ( .. a band name derived from the first initial of each band member's first name). Through 'TRASK', Ken met Trevor Eynon ( .. his bandmate for a time in future band 'Otherside') and the group released a 12" single on their own GUD record label ..  the imaginatively titled 'TRASK E.P.' before they split. Ken spent several years in the wilderness after the TRASK split, but the will to make music finally got the better of him in 2003, as he put together  'Kebabylon Productions' .. an umbrella company whose name would spawn not only his future record company and studio, but also provide the title for his first solo album in 2004. In 2005, Ken teamed up again with Trevor and formed 'Otherside', releasing the 'Veil Of Tears' 4 track E.P. in August 2006 and their debut album a few months later in October: 'Looking For The Fine Line'. A remix of 'Swept Away'  ( .. the 'Tidal' mix) was released in May 07, C/W an excellent remix by Luton Falls ( .. the 'Sidewinder' mix) and a demo of an unreleased song called: 'Off The Cuff'. In June 2007, Otherside released a 23 track collection: 'Audible Traces - Vol.1' which is a collection that included the first 2 singles and 16 other rarities, alternates, unreleased songs and outtakes. Deborah Harris took over vocal duties soon after 'Audible Traces - Vol.1' was released. Ken and Deb released the next Otherside studio album ('Everything Turns To Rust') in late 2007 and preceded that with a 4 track CD single: 'MORicana'. As soon as ' .. Rust' was released, the duo turned Otherside into a 4 piece by introducing Alan Roberts on bass guitar and Stuart Carroll on drums. You can read more details on their bio elsewhere on Kebabylon.
